Obituary of John Ansel Hawkins

Beech Grove John Ansel Hawkins, 56 of 694 Sugar Maple Lane, Mooresville, IN died at 7:20 pm on Saturday, June 21, 2008 at St. Francis Hospital and Health Center in Beech Grove. Born September 7, 1951 in LaPorte, IN, he was the son of Charles Ansel and Della Gertrude (Blunk) Hawkins. He married Jo Ellen (East) Hawkins on September 3, 1994 and she survives. He retired from the U.S. Navy after 21 years. He was a member of the VFW in Clarksville, TN and a Vietnam War Veteran. Surviving with his wife, Jo of Mooresville are two daughters, Angela S. Hawkins of Paducah, KY, April D. Hawkins and her husband John Campbell of San Diego, CA, two stepsons, Scott T. Bartley and his wife Mandy of Bedford, James W. Bartley of Mooresville, IN, one sister, Patricia E. Eakle and her husband Robert of Bloomington, one grandson, Cole C. Bartley of Bedford and his father, Charles Ansel Hawkins of Bedford. He was preceded in death by his mother. Funeral Information Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 am on Thursday, June 26, 2008 with Steve Hawkins officiating at Day & Carter Morturay. Burial will follow in Mitchell Cemetery. Military rites will be accorded at the graveside. Friends may call from 3:00 pm 8:00 pm on Wednesday, June 25th at the Mortuary.
