Obituary of Gary N. Matson
Springville Gary N. Matson, 74, of Springville, formerly of Strum, Wisconsin, died at 2:00 pm on Sunday, March 24, 2013 at I.U. Health Hospice House in Bloomington.
Born September 2, 1938 in Whitehall, WI, he was the son of Norval and Gladys (Thronson) Matson. He married Janice Missell on June 21, 1958 and she survives. He retired after thirty years as an electricial Engineer for the Honeywell Corp. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving 1957-1966 and a member of the Calvary Lutheran Church. He enjoyed his grandkids, golfing, fishing, baseball and was an avid Green Bay Packers fan.
Survivors include his wife, Janice, of Springville; a daughter, Debbie Berry and husband, Scott of Troy, MI; two sons, Kevin Matson and wife, Michele, of Carmel, Paul Matson and wife, Missy, of Bedford; a brother, Bob Matson and wife, Connie, of Eau Claire, WI; a sister, Julie Corrington and husband, Paul, of West Linn, OR; grandchildren, Michael Berry, Nicholas Matson, Domenica Whitaker and husband, Jerry, Philip Matson and Patric Matson; great grandchildren, Finnigan Whitaker and Madelyn Whitaker. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Thursday, March 28th in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Pastor Charles Groth officiating. Cremation will follow. Military rites will be accorded by members of Gillen Post #33 American Legion and D.A.V. Chapter #2. Visitation will be from 11:00 am until the hour of service on Thursday, March 28th at the Day & Carter Mortuary. Donations Information
