I worked for Gary many years ago at Honeywell. Gary was a great boss who hired me into my first engineering position with Honeywell. He was always fair, kind and easy to work for. Today I was going through some old Honeywell files which reminded me of how much I miss Gary and all the others that made my career there so rewarding. RIP Gary, I'll see you in paradise.

Dear Jan and Family; Bob and Julie and your Families,
We are so sorry for your loss. Words can never fully express.
But, oh the memories of Gary we know you can draw on, we all can draw on. Smart and wise, level headed, very good athlete, caring. Strong family man! I don't have to tell you.
Little Norval I always think of Cousin Gary as, just like his Dad and Mom. We Matson cousins had a pretty good time growing up in Strum, always there for each other, played ball at the family gatherings, there for each other in some very tough times, too. And Gary was right up there with the older cousins, showing, by example, us younger cousins how to act.
And here we all are today, with two of us cousins gone to our Maker. Not a bad bunch, even now. Cousins forever. Thank you for helping to lead the way, Gary. Thank you Jan, Bob and Julie for continuing to lead the way which Uncle Norval and Aunt Gladys showed so well. It shows every day in Your families.

Dear Jan, Bob, Julie and families,
Susan and I extend our deepest sympathies on the passing of my cousin Gary, and we regret that we are unable to attend his funeral today. Gary was my closest cousin and our friendship goes way back when we were little guys playing together at their farm or in Strum. I remember when the two of us would play baseball using sticks for a bat and a tightly wound wad of aluminum foil for a ball. We played all the sports in high school together and he was a very good athlete just like his Dad Norval. I am going to miss Gary, especially at our high school and family reunions but we will look forward to seeing Jan and family at the Matson-Garson reunion next summer.

Paul, Missy, & Family,
We are so sad to hear about your loss. Please know that you all have been in our thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. I met Gary a couple times as he and Paul were playing golf, and I could just tell he enjoyed spending time and playing golf with him. We pray that you are all comforted by knowing that he is in a better place and is looking down upon us all from the grand course in the sky. Dear Jan and family - We were sorry to hear of Gary's passing. I always enjoyed seeing him at family reunions and other family events over the years. We had a nice visit about Indiana last summer. I'll always remember his calm presence - he had that Matson way about him!
