Obituary of Viola R. York
Bedford-Viola R. York, 64, of Bedford died at 7:41pm on Saturday, August 2, 2014 at the IU Health Bedford Hospital.
Born March 31, 1950 in Linton, IN she was the daughter of James and Opal (Lankford) Doane. She worked 10 years for the City of Bloomington as a Public Works Secretary retiring in 1997. She was a member of the Oolitic United Methodist Church.
Survivors include two sons: Shawn Hall and his wife Nubucko of Atlanta, GA, and Jason Hall of Virginia; three grandchildren: Katie and Alex Voorhies, and Soma Hall; three brothers: Carl Doane of Bloomfield, Charles Doane of Ohio, and Paul Doane of Vincennes; two sisters: Jane Quillen of Crane, and Mona Doane of Bloomfield; three step grandchildren: Whitney, Ashley, and John D. Terrance; two daughters in law: Amber Howe, and Melinda Tarrance; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, one son, Nathan Voorhies; four brothers; and one sister. Graveside funeral services will be conducted at 2:00pm on Tuesday, August 5th at the Mundell Cemetery with Pastor Dan Voorhies officiating. Visitation will be from 11:00 am until 1:30pm on Tuesday at the Day & Carter Mortuary. Donations Information
