I have known Johnny since the year 1963 when I married Conley Hammond. Johnny was my brother-in-law and friend. He was always a gratious gentleman whenever my husband and I came to visit. He was always asking if he could get us anything. I loved hearing Johnny talk about his past and he had quite a few colorfull stories. My kids loved him and he always treated them like his grandkids. Johnny will be sorely missed.

My beloved Uncle Syl may be gone, but I will always have him with me. He was one of my biggest supporters, and I always appreciated that. We had a lot of fun together, laughed a lot, and had many a political conversation. I hope he has found a profound peace. My heart and my love goes to Auntie, Debbie, Syl and Joshua.
