Obituary of Donald Reuter
BedfordDonald Reuter, 90, of Bedford, passed away at 4:35 A.M. Sunday, December 2nd at the White River Lodge.
Born on December 22, 1921 in Lawrence County, IN he was the son of Fred and Chloe (Kern) Reuter. He retired from Crane in 1986 and was a Veteran of W.W. II serving in the Navy from 1944 until 1952. A member of the Southland Church of Christ he was also a member of the F & AM Cedar Lodge #161. He married Betty Henderson on March 30, 1941 and she preceded him in death on June 12, 2008.
Surviving is one son, Ronnie Reuter and wife Mary of Springville; three granddaughters, Kim Blackwell and husband Scott and Susan Wykoff and husband Bob, both of Bedford and Donna Alexander and husband Dan of Springville; two grandsons, Steve Reuter and wife Cindy of Germany and Kerry Reuter of Florida; eleven great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and wife, three sisters, Dorothy Ray, Evelyn Reuter and Anna Duncan; four brothers, Emmitt Reuter, Ervin Reuter, Ted Reuter and William Reuter. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, December 4th in the Elmwood Chapel of Day & Carter Mortuary with Pastor Alan Phillips officiating. Burial will follow in the Green Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held at Day & Carter Mortuary on Tuesday, December 4th from 10:00 A.M. until the hour of the service. Pallbearers will be Evan Blackwell, Tyler Blackwell, Darrell Blackwell, Dan Alexander, Larry Wray, and Gary Wray.
