Obituary of Charles Marion Rainey

Bloomington, Charles Marion Rainey, 66, of 9276 South Ketchum Road in Bloomington, died at 4:51 pm on Friday, July 1st at the Bloomington Hospital. Born on December 18, 1938, he was the son of Vernor Von and Vernell (Taylor) Rainey. He married Bonnie Willis on June 7, 1963 and she survives. He retired as a self-employed drywall finisher and was a veteran serving in the U.S. Army. Surviving with the wife, Bonnie of Bloomington, are four children; Michael Allen Rainey of Bloomington, Steven Charles Rainey of Indianapolis, Debra Lavon Rugenstein of Solsberry and Beverly Ann Prince of Bloomington; six grandchildren; Casey and Alissa Rugenstein, Joshua, Jessica, Matthew and Olivia Prince; three nephews and one niece. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister; Vernadene Cassidy. Funeral Information Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 am on Wednesday, July 6th from the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Pastor Shannon Benham officiating. Burial will follow in Clover Hill Cemetery with military rites accorded at the grave by American Legion Gillien Post #33. Friends may call from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Tuesday, July 5th at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
