Obituary of John Edward Rainey

Bedford John Edward Rainey, 62, of Bedford, IN, died at 10:00 pm on Friday, December 28, 2007 at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis.Born September 4, 1945 in Lawrence Co., he was the son of William Lawrence and Bernice Reba (Turpen) Rainey. He married Carol Padgett on July 11, 1964 and she survives. He had been employed at Buck Lemon Furniture for fifteen years and C & B Electric for twenty years. He was the owner of Johns Used Furniture in Bedford. He was a member of the Norman Conservation Club and the Tuesday Night Euchre Club. Survivors include his wife, Carol of Bedford; children, Rhonda Lane of Bedford, Wes Rainey and his wife, Kim of Heltonville, Rebecca Harding and her husband, Ray of Bedford; six grandchildren, Haley and Adam Lane, Jessalyn, Alicia and Mikaela Rainey and Emily Harding; a grandson, Rhett Alan Rainey due in February; three brothers, Bill Rainey of Michigan, Jerry Rainey of Bedford and Dean Rainey of Pendleton; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Ralph Howard Rainey and one sister, Carolyn Sue Owens. Funeral Information Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 am on Thursday, January 3rd at the Englewood Baptist Church in Bedford with Pastor David Ferry and Pastor Ronnie McLain officiating.
