Obituary of Barbara J. Quackenbush

BedfordBarbara J. Quackenbush, 78, passed away at 6:25 A.M. Friday, April 27, 2007 in El Paso, TX while staying with her son. Born on August 9, 1928 in Bedford, IN she was the daughter of Burl McDowell and Florida (Flinn) McDowell. She married Robert L. Quackenbush on September 9, 1949 and he died on February 24, 1999. She retired as office manager from Ingalls Stone Company, was a member of the First United Methodist Church, past board member of the Dunn Memorial Hospital, active with the Bedford Educational Scholarship Foundation. Surviving is one son: Philip Quackenbush and his wife, Betsy of El Paso, TX; one daughter: Susan Simons and her husband, Bill of Poulsbo, WA; four grandchildren: Jenny Chu and her husband, Mike Walton; Catherine Chu and her husband, Jessie; David Chu and John Quackenbush and his wife, Shawna; two great granddaughters: Rachael and Mira; one sister: Sally Farrell of Bedford. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband. Funeral Information Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, May 5th from the Elmwood Chapel of Day & Carter Mortuary with Rev. Tim Alhemeyer officiating. Burial will follow at Cresthaven Memory Gardens. Friends may call on Saturday, May 5th from 10:00 A.M. until the service hour at Day & Carter Mortuary.
