Obituary of Richard D. Pritchett

Judah Richard D. Pritchett, 85, of Judah, passed away at 4:29 pm on Thursday, August 2, 2012 at I.U. Health Bloomington Hospital. Born July 22, 1927 in Lawrence Co., he was the son of Clifford Joe and Mabel (Harden) Pritchett. He married Sylvia Baker on October 28, 1950 and she survives. Richard was the original co-founder of Pritchett Brothers Construction with his brother, Charles. He was a founding member and past president of Lawrence Co. Home Builders Assoc., a member of Shriners International, a 32nd degree Mason, member of Bedford Masonic Lodge #14 F & AM, Scottish Rite Valley of Indianapolis and a veteran serving in the U.S. Navy. He loved watching sports, especially those in which his grandchildren participated, spending time with his family, and traveling the world with his wife. He enjoyed being outside working in his yard and was proud of his community. He had many friends he enjoyed. Survivors include his wife, Sylvia of Judah; five sons, Ronald D. Pritchett and wife, Donna Jo, Joe Pritchett and wife, Lisa, Scott Pritchett and wife, Donna Jean, Ed Pritchett and wife, Kelli, Jon Pritchett and wife, Mary all of Judah; eleven grandchildren, Camila and Nicole Pritchett, Shelby, Emily and Zane Pritchett, Mallory and Hannah Pritchett, Derek and Kayla Pritchett, Taylor and Alex Pritchett; two brothers, Charles Pritchett of Bedford and Earl Pritchett of Judah; three sisters, Grace McDonald of Bedford, Louella Meadows of Judah and Joann McCain of Florida; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral Information Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 am on Tuesday, August 7th in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Jeff Williams officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Monday, August 6th at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
