Obituary of James Elzia Price

Bedford James Elzia Price, 70, of Bedford, died at 6:20 am on Sunday, March 29, 2009 at Bloomington Hospital. Born October 13, 1938 in Owensburg, IN, he was the son of Arlie Price and Amanda (Jackson) Tilford. He married Eleanor Potts on March 7, 1959 and they had just celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. Jim was a graduate of the Oolitic High School with the class of 1956 and was president of his class reunions. He was a long and devoted volunteer at the Bedford Boys Club and received many volunteer awards. He was always ready to do what he could when they called and needed some help. He attended the Tabernacle of Praise Church and looked forward to being with his church family. Jim retired from General Motors in 2000 after thirty-one years of service. Jims pride and joy was his wife, Eleanor; his daughter and son-in-law, Lynette and Lynn Greene; his granddaughters, Lynessa and Lynnae Greene all of Heltonville. Also surviving are one sister, Etta Rose Sanders of Bedford; one step-brother, John Tilford and wife, Polly of Bloomington; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Arlie Price and mother and step-father, Amanda and Willard Tilford. Funeral Information Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 am on Thursday, April 2nd at the Tabernacle of Praise Church with Gary Thomas officiating. A graveside committal will be conducted at the Owensburg Cemetery. Friends may call from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Wednesday, April 1st at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
