Obituary of Catherine Poole

Catherine Katie Poole, 90, of Bedford, passed away on Sunday, March 15, 2009 at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. Born November 11, 1918 in Chicago, she was the daughter of Matt Ratkovich and Mary Morris. Katie married Earl Poole on November 9, 1946 and he preceded her in death in 1962. She was retired from M. Fine & Sons. Katie was a member of the St. Johns Episcopal Church, the Eastern Star and the Eagles Auxiliary. Survivors include two step sons, James Poole of Georgia, Jerry Poole of Oolitic; two sisters, Mildred Ratkovich and Rosa Taylor both of Bedford; one brother Daniel Ratkovich of Bedford; and several step-grandchildren, step-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews and her caregivers, Bev Wray and Donna Barrett both of Bedford She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two step sons, Alan Poole and Kenneth Poole; three sisters, Amanda Skidmore, Anna Spaulding and Josephine Strunk, two brothers, Nickie and John Ratkovich. Funeral Information Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, March 18th from the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with burial following in Beech Grove Cemetery. Friends may call from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. on Tuesday, March 17th at Day & Carter Mortuary.
