Obituary of Wayne Pierce
Bedford Wayne Pierce, 91, of 1917 D Street, Bedford, died at 8:00 am on Wednesday, July 9, 2008 at his residence.
Born June 17, 1917 in Lawrence Co., he was the son of Charles and Gladys (Eagan) Pierce. He married Gertrude Mae Snow on September 23, 1941 and she preceded him in death in July 2006. He was a welder at General Motors in Bedford. He was a member of the Faith Mission Church in Bedford and U.A.W. Local #440. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during WW II.
Survivors include one son, David Pierce and his wife, Donna of Bedford; one grandson, Drew Pierce and his wife, Brandy of New Hampshire; two great grandsons, Bryce and Connor Pierce of New Hampshire; many nieces and nephews; three brothers, Forrest Pierce of Williams, Kelsie Pierce and his wife, Janet of Bedford, Ron Pierce and his wife, Becky of Mitchell; one sister, Shirley Ellison and her husband, Fred of Mitchell. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, one son, Wayne Jr., two brothers, Dale and Harold Pierce and one sister, Frances Hedge. Funeral Information
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 am on Monday, July 14th at the Faith Mission Church in Bedford with Rev. Leonard Sankey, Rev. Stevan Manley and Rev. David Crosley officiating. Burial will follow in Knott Cemetery in Lawrence Co. Friends may call from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Sunday, July 13th at the Day & Carter Mortuary and from 9:30 am until the hour of service on Monday, July 14th at the Faith Mission Church. Military rites will be accorded at the graveside by members of Gillen Post #33 American Legion.
