Obituary of Dorothy J. Hirscher

Bedford Dorothy J. Hirscher, 89, of Bedford, died Sunday, September 27, 2009 at her residence. Born September 10, 1920 in Minneapolis, MN, she was the daughter of Thomas and Anna (Yurecko) Rubis. She married Wayne Hirscher on August 9, 1944 and he preceded her in death on July 13, 2002. She was the co-owner of the Hirscher Flower Shop in Bedford and co-owner and manager of the Flower Bowl in Bloomington, IN retiring in 2001. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Bedford. Survivors include a daughter, Cathy A. Thrasher and husband, Michael of Bloomington. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and one brother, George Rubis. Funeral Information Graveside services will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Thursday, October 1st at Green Hill Cemetery with Jeff Hauersperger officiating. Burial will follow. Friends may call from 11:00 am to 1:45 pm on Thursday, October 1st at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
