Obituary of Marvin J. Perkins

Oolitic Marvin J. Perkins, 32, of 230 Indiana Ave., Oolitic, died at 8:30 am on Tuesday, November 30, 2010 at his residence. Born February 6, 1978 in Lawrence Co., he was the son of David and Mary (Gerkin) Berry. He was a mechanic and transmission rebuilder at Bobs Transmissions and a member of the Avoca Baptist Church. Survivors include his parents, David and Mary Berry of Oolitic; three brothers, Joe Gerkin and wife, Shandi, Randall Gerkin and wife, Amy all of Bedford and Ben Berry and wife, Nicole of Oolitic; four nieces and nephews, Shanda King, Shayla King, Olivia Gerkin, Reardon Gerkin; several aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Bernard and Helen Gerkin; his paternal grandparents, Lyle and Viola Berry. Funeral Information Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 am on Saturday, December 4th in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Pastor Kyle Witmer officiating. Burial will follow in the Solsberry Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Friday, December 3rd and from 10:00 am until the hour of service on Saturday, December 4th at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
