Obituary of David L. Hill

Bedford David L. Hill, 74, of Bedford, went home to be with the Lord at 5:15 am on Tuesday, August 9, 2011 at I.U. Health Bedford Hospital. Born November 21, 1936 in Lawrence Co., he was the son of William Shine Hill and Hazel (Trueblood) Hill. He married Phyllis Wagoner on September 15, 1979 and she survives. He worked at Cummins Engine for thirty-nine years and was a member of the Bedford Baptist Temple. Survivors include his wife, Phyllis, of Bedford; four daughters, Leann Chastain and husband, Tim of Cambellsburg, IN, Patricia Galloway of French Lick, IN, Lisa Cargal of Worthington, IN, Teresa Applegate and husband, Dan, of Bedford; three sons, Rob Bridwell of Norman, IN, Van Bridwell and wife, Tonya, Springville, IN, Tim Bridwell and wife, Helen, of Heltonville, IN; sixteen grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren and one brother, Glen Hill of Terre Haute, IN. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Art and Bob Hill and a granddaughter, Stephanie Chastain. Funeral Information Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 am on Friday, August 12th in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Pastor Dan Voorhies officiating. Burial will follow in Cresthaven Memory Gardens. Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Thursday, August 11th at the Day & Carter Mortuary. The family asks that friends consider memorial contributions be made to the Bedford Baptist Temple.
