Obituary of Donald W. Owens

Williams Donald W. Owens, 71, of Williams, died at 10:10 am on Saturday, March 24 2012 at St. Vincent Dunn Hospital. Born October 15, 1940 in Williams, he was the son of Ralph and MaryBelle (Gee) Owens. He married LulaBelle Baker on November 25, 1959 and she survives. Donald was a beloved husband, father, and grandfather. He began working for Monon in 1963 and retired 40 years later as an engineer for CSX Railroad. Donald was a member of the Mount Olive Church of Christ. He enjoyed photography, playing guitar, woodworking, and spending time with his family. Survivors include his wife, LulaBelle of Williams; four children, Kelli Brady and husband Clark of Plainfield, Sherri Martin and husband Michael of Plainfield, Donald Wayne Owens of Solsberry, and Stephanie Anderson and husband Robby of Bedford; six grandchildren, Audrey Brady, Anna Martin, Joshua Martin, Nicholas Brady, Caleb Martin, and Jordan Owens; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Betty Hovis. Funeral Information Funeral Services will be conducted at 11:00 am on Thursday, March 29th in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day &Carter Mortuary with Eddie Owens officiating. Burial will follow at Williams Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Wednesday, March 28th and 10:00 am until the time of service on Thursday, March 29th at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
