Obituary of Douglas Overstreet
Bloomington Douglas Overstreet, 57, of Bloomington, IN, formerly of Bedford, died at 9:35 am on Thursday, January 15, 2009 at the Golden Living Center in Bloomington.
Born April 10, 1951 in Laurel, Mississippi, he was the son of Buford Quincy and Lorene (Phelps) Overstreet. He was a cook at the Waffle House, the Early Bird Restaurant and Pleasers Restaurant all in Bedford. He was a member of the Guide Point Church and the Moose Lodge.
Survivors include his companion, Mellissa Overstreet of Bedford; two daughters, Tina Cramer of Bedford and Rachel Overstreet and her fiance, Michael Kee of Bloomington; two sons, Douglas Turner and his wife, Lilly of Helton, KY and Michael Vinson of Bedford; nine grandchildren, Laura and Joseph Cramer, Eric and Thomas Turner, Kyra, Kaylin and Kylie Vinson, Braxton Bickers and Ian Eicle; three sisters, Betty Hollowell of Bedford, Rose Turner and her husband, Ned of Mozelle, KY and Cathy Simler of Seymour; one brother, Mike Overstreet of Bedford. He was preceded in death by his parents and one granddaughter, Madison Bickers. Funeral Information
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Saturday, January 17th from the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Pastor Chris Perry officiating. Burial will follow in the Dive Cemetery. Friends may call from 10:00 am until the hour of service on Saturday, January 17th at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
