Obituary of Ruth Oliver

Carmel Ruth Oliver, 87, of Carmel, IN, formerly of Bedford, died at 12:40 pm on Thursday, August 31, 2006 at St. Vincent Hospital in Carmel. Born October 22, 1918 in Williams, IN she was the daughter of Jefferson and Elmira (Inman) McCoy. She married Loren Oliver on May 7, 1949 and he preceded her in death on February 16, 1993. She was a homemaker and life-long resident of Lawrence County until 2001. She joined the Indian Creek Primitive Baptist Church in 1953. Survivors include one daughter, Connie Horwitz and her husband, Jeff of Carmel, IN; two grandchildren, Mark and Rebecca Horwitz; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers, Ralph, Arnold, Roy, Raymond, Harold, Ward and Otis McCoy; one sister, Lois McCoy and her mother-in-law, Maggie Bluff. Funeral Information Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 am on Tuesday, September 5th from the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Elder Kevin Freeman officiating. Burial will follow in Indian Creek Primitive Baptist Cemetery. Friends may call from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Monday, September 4th at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
