Obituary of Janice M. Newell

Janice M. Newell, 70, of Bedford, died Saturday, April 07, 2012 at Westview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Born July 22, 1941 in Martin County, she was the daughter of Merle H. and Lela M. (Taylor) Price. Janice married Harold S. Newell on September 24, 1966 and he survives. She retired from the deli department of Jay C Plus after working there for thirteen yearsand had been a cook at the Bedford Junior High School. She was a member of the New Union Christian Church. Survivors include her husband, Harold of Bedford; one daughter, Jan M. Newell of Bedford; and one brother, Darrell Price and wife Brenda of Bedford. Janice was preceded in death by her parents, Merle and Lela Price. Funeral Information Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, April 10th in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary. Burial will follow in New Union Christian Church Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Monday, April 9th and Noon until 2:00 pm on Tuesday, April 10th at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
