Obituary of Michael J. New

Oolitic, Michael J. New, 59, of 1005 Eric Avenue in Oolitic, died at 6:25 p.m. on Friday, September 10th in Indianapolis, IN. Born on January 12, 1945 in Oolitic, IN, he was the son of Escar and Pearl (Godsey) New. He married Joy Franklin on June 25, 1965 and she survives. He worked as a Tool & Die maker for G.M. Powertrain in Bedford and was a member of the UAW Local #440. He attended the Grace Full Gospel and Tunnel Hill Church. Surviving with his wife of Oolitic, are two sons: Danny Joe New and his wife, Stacy of Bedford; David Franklin New and his wife, Misty of Oolitic; one daughter: Bridget Renae Taylor and her husband, Matt of Oolitic; six grandchildren: Breanna New, Kennedy Taylor, Tucker New, Owan New, Grant New and Jordan New; four brothers: Dean and Larry New both of Bedford; David New of Missouri and Jerry New of Mitchell. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother: Ray ODell New in infancy. Funeral Information Friends may call from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Monday, September 13th, and from 9:00 a.m. until service time on Tuesday, at the Day & Carter Mortuary. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 14th, from the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Rev. Bruce Roberts and Rev. Brent ONeal officiating. Burial will follow at Hilltop Cemetery.
