Obituary of John C. Nelson

Leesville John C. Nelson, 75, of 1616 Middle Leesville Rd., Leesville, IN, died at 8:30 am on Monday, March 12, 2007 at the home of his daughter, Claudia Cazee and her companion, Jack Jean. Born June 23, 1931 in Bedford, he was the son of Conrad and Eva Ethel (Lavender) Nelson. He married Ruby K, Hicks in 1962 and she preceded him in death on February 1, 2004. He worked at Philco in Bedford and retired as a bartender from Bedford Boat and Sportsmans Club in 1993. He was a veteran of the Korean War serving in the U.S. Army. He was a member of the Eagles Lodge #654, Bedford Boat and Sportsmans Club and Gillen Post #33 American Legion. Survivors include four sons, Randy Nelson, John Nelson and his wife, Natasha, Dennis Hicks and his wife, Meg and Steve McDonald and his wife, Angie; four daughters, Debbie Lalonde and her husband, Jim, Claudia Cazee and her companion, Jack Jean, Kathy Holt and her husband, Tim and Lori Nelson; two sisters, Judy Lacy of Brazil, IN and Jean Brady of Rockford, IL; one brother, Jim Nelson of Bedford; several grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, two daughters, Kelly Nelson Klindt and Brenda Coy; one sister, Evelyn Chase and one brother, Don Nelson. Funeral Information Graveside services will be conducted at 1:30 pm on Thursday, March 15th at the Green Hill Cemetery with Major Raymond C. Briggs officiating. Burial will follow. Friends may call from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm on Thursday, March 15th at the Day & Carter Mortuary. Military rites will be accorded at the graveside by members of Gillen Post #33 American Legion.
