Obituary of Vicki E. Murphy

Bedford Vicki E. Murphy, 58, of 1001 R Street, Bedford, died Tuesday, September 6, 2011 at her residence. Born September 22, 1952 in Bedford, she was the daughter of Allan and June (Pace) Hert. She was a receptionist for the American Red Cross Headquarters and volunteered at Community Care. Survivors include a daughter, Lisa Blackman, and husband, Jack Blackman, of Martinsville; a grandson, Mason Blackman; a sister, Allana Hopkins, and husband, Gary Hopkins, of Bedford; a brother, Kent Hert, and wife, Nancy Hert, of Springville; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents. Funeral Information Memorial services will be conducted at 6:30 pm on Friday, September 9th, in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Pastor Eric Kersey officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00 pm until the hour of service on Friday, September 9th at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
