Obituary of Robert Dale Hicks

Mitchell Robert Dale Hicks, 40, of 211 Stevens Lane, Mitchell, died at 12:50 am on Wednesday, July 30, 2008 from injuries sustained in an auto accident. Born December 31, 1967 in Bedford, he was the son of James R. Hicks and Jo (Goodman) Ratkovich. He married Belinda Moore on October 15, 1993 and she survives. He was a millwright and a nineteen year member of Local #1003 of Indianapolis. He was a member of the Mt. Pleasant Christian Church. Robert was a dedicated father and avid youth sports fan. Survivors include his wife, Belinda of Mitchell; his father, James R. Hicks and his wife, Rebecca; his mother, Jo Ratkovich; his step-father, John Moe Ratkovich and his wife, Shelley; three children, Chelsey Nicole, Dawson Wade and Josey Elizabeth Hicks; a brother, Matthew L. Hicks and his wife, Michelle of Madison; his maternal grandparents, Dale and Georgia Goodman; his paternal grandmother, Viola F. Hicks; a nephew, Ben Hicks; a niece, Molly Hicks his mother-in-law, Terri Moore; a brother-in-law, Chris Moore and his wife, Stacey. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Robert Earl Hicks and his father-in-law, Ed Moore. Funeral Information Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 pm on Monday, August 4th from the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary. Burial will follow in Pinkston Cemetery. Friends may call from 12:00 noon to 8:00 pm on Sunday, August 3rd and from 12:00 noon until the hour of service on Monday, August 4th at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
