Obituary of Willie D. Morris

Bedford Willie D. Morris, 94, of 216 Rawlins Road A, Bedford, died at 11:00 pm on Tuesday, February 17, 2004 at his residence. Born February 2, 1910 in Clay County, KY, he was the son of John Greene and Rhoda (Tuttle) Morris. He retired from the Indiana Limestone Company in Bedford and was a member of the Freedom Baptist Church in Kentucky. He was a veteran of WW II serving with the U.S. Army. Survivors include one sister, Jewell Gilbert of Bedford; one brother, Tommy Morris of Detroit, MI; several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Robert, John and Charles Morris and five sisters, Haley Gilbert, Minerva Maloney, Annie Gilbert, Flora Sasser and Edith Miracle. Funeral Information Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 am on Saturday, February 21st from the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Rev. Richard Tallman officiating. Burial will follow in Beech Grove Cemetery. Friends may call from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Friday, February 20th at the Day & Carter Mortuary. Military rites will be accorded at the graveside by members of Gillen Post #33 American Legion.
