I grew up at Anderson Skating Rink. Maxine and Clyde gave me skating lessons starting when I was six years old and continuing until I was probably sixteen. They were the only ones my mother would trust to watch over me while I skated. We lived on V Street just down the alley from the rink and I was skating every time the rink was open. I saw Clyde a couple of years ago and he looked so good and had such wonderful memories of all the kids who grew up at the rink.
He and Maxine were a big part of my life and I'll always have fond memories of both of them.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. I spent many nights at the Roller Rink when I was younger and Clyde was alwsys behind the counter to take our song requests. A part of my childhood died this week and he will be missed.

To the Moore Family, Some of my fondiest memories growing up were the times I spent at the Roller Rink. My kids enjoyed many Birthday parties there as well as the 40th Anniversay Celebration we had for my In-Law, which is where they spent alot of their time dating. It was so much fun! I remember Clyde and Maxine always greeting you at the door as you came in. Their smile and kindness will always be remembered.

To all the Moore Family: We are so sorry for your loss. Clyde and Maxine were great people who brought a lot of joy and happiness to many others. You can be proud of them and their kind, caring and ethical business practices. They were a home away from home for lots of kids and I'm sure they did a lot of surrogate parenting. I had not seen Clyde for many years but he was always smiling and happy, always trying to help other people relax and enjoy their lives too. My Aunt, Margie Hillenburg Clampitt, spent countless hours at the Anderson Rollerland in the 40's and 50's, I spent some time there in the 60's, and my daughter, Terri Kelley did also in the 70's. I didn't get to spend a lot of time there, but when I did, it was always fun. Even those who didn't know Clyde well knew what kind of a person he was, kind and gentle. I hope you have many happy memories to comfort you at this time. I'm sure he will be smiling down on all of you for the rest of your own lives. God Bless you all. Sincerely, Joyce M. Jeffries, OHS Class of 1963 and family
