I only wish that I could have been up there with everyone for the services. Unfortunately, being a teacher here in the south doesn't allow me to get away much. I will always cherish my childhood memories of Aunt Avonda making sure that I made it to Sunday School. I still have my first bible and it is even more precious to me now. She was a very special lady to me while I was growing up. I don't even think she knew until I told her just last summer. When I made my trips back home, I always tried to visit or call her even when I didn't have the time to see anyone else. She will remain close in my heart.
