Obituary of Hazel I. Merry

Bedford Hazel I. Merry, 96, of Bedford, died Wednesday, November 10, 2010 at the Bliss House in Bedford. Born November 14, 1913, in Bedford, she was the daughter of Paul Emmett and Clara Belle (Smith) Schreiber. She first married Wilmer Williams and he preceded her in death. She later married Orland Merry and he also preceded her in death. She was a homemaker and a member of the Bryantsville Church of Christ. She enjoyed writing poetry. Survivors include a daughter, Jeanette Simmerman and husband, Larry of Mitchell; a granddaughter, Regina Shelton and husband, Allan of Valonia; three brothers, Jesse, Bennie and Dale Schreiber and one sister, Nellie Read. She was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands and a grandson, Robert Eugene Cassidy. Funeral Information Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Saturday, November 13th in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Bro. Dean Jackson officiating. Burial will follow in the Bryantsville Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12:00 noon until the hour of service on Saturday, November 13th at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
