Deepest sympathies to Mrs. Banks and all of Mack's family. He was the bus driver for our two girls almost their whole school time. He was kind and gentle and treated all the children very well. The kids in the neighborhood loved him and always spoke well,of him. He was admired by us parents as well. His job had to be tough at times with all the different ages . He would stop in front of each home so your child could safely stand in his own yard waiting. If a child was not out front he would give a little beep (I can still remember the distinctive sound) to make sure they did not miss the bus. If a child was sick we would wave him on down the lane. He was polite and thoughtful and handled problems on his bus with fairness . He always gave the kids a treat on Holidays. They looked forward to seeing him every day. I am sure his wife had a hand in the treats because they were wonderful and looked home made. I always thought she must be as kind and thoughtful as her husband. To call him a bus driver is too simple a description of his work. I would call him a protector and guardian of our children and a wonderful part of our neighborhood. We were grateful to him then and shall remain very fond of our memories of him.Bless your family and know that he will always be remembered. Sincerely the Bartletts and all of Bedford Heights.
