Obituary of Marilyn Meadows
Bedford Marilyn Meadows, 67, of Bedford, died at 3:02 pm on Saturday, March 7, 2009 at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis.
Born September 23, 1941 in Bedford, she was the daughter of Cletis Cazee and Mary Ann (Parker) Rodman. She was a loving mother and homemaker and member of the Crossroads Community Church. Music was her passion, she sang gospel music at Mr. Gattis in Bedford and at the Goodtimes Restaurant in Bloomfield. She received many awards for singing to patients in nursing homes in Bedford, Mitchell and Paoli. She helped many lives through song and made many friends. She was one of the first women to graduate from construction school in Oolitic.
Survivors include two daughters, Cynthia Godsey and husband, Rick of Bedford, Kimberly Highley of Springville; four sons, Steven Burns and wife, Shannon, Thomas Burns and wife, Christi all of Arkansas, Larry and David Windeknecht both of Missouri; several brothers and sisters; twenty-one grandchildren and several great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Roscoe, Jr. and Bessie Parker, the couple who raised her; two half-brothers, one half-sister and one grandson, Trent Richard Highley. Funeral Information
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 pm on Thursday, March 12th from the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Pastor Ken Ransom officiating. Burial will follow in the Springville Christian Cemetery. Friends may call from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Wednesday, March 11th and from 10:00 am until the hour of service on Thursday, March 12th at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
