Obituary of James L. Henson

Bedford James L. Henson, 86, of Bedford, died Thursday, November 1, 2012 at Stonebridge Health Campus in Bedford. Born March 29, 1926 in Lawrence Co., he was the son of Ulysses and Dessie (Colvins) Henson. He married Maybelle Beavers in August 1953 and she preceded him in death in December 2006. He retired from General Motors on January 1, 1990 and was a veteran of WW II. Survivors include a step-son, Jerry Tolbert (Sue) of Mitchell; two step-daughters, Javonna Sutton (Vernon) of Mitchell, Ronda Brown (Darrell) of Bedford; nine step-grandchildren; seven step-great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, two brothers, Duard and Delbert Henson. Funeral Information Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Sunday, November 4th in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Bro. Richard Holt officiating. Burial will follow in the Fayetteville Community Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11:00 am until the hour of service on Sunday, November 4th at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
