Obituary of Lawrence Maze

Oolitic Lawrence Maze, Jr., 82, of 797 Lafayette Ave., Oolitic, died at 11:24 am on Tuesday, February 2, 2010 at the Dunn Memorial Hospital. Born December 17, 1927 in Martin Co., he was the son of Lawrence Maze Sr. and Minnie (Simmerman) Maze. He married Lois Charlene Beyers on May 17, 1952 and she preceded him in death on May 25, 2001. He served in the U.S. Army for twenty-nine years and retired from NWSC Crane after 44 years. He was a member of the Spring Mill F.O.P. and the Oolitic Volunteer Fire Dept. Survivors include two sons, Ted Maze and wife, Anna of Oolitic and Jon Maze and wife, Debbie of Bedford; grandchildren, Justin Pogue and wife, Michelle, Marci Bennett and husband, Bryce, Lesley Miracle and husband, Josh, Sarah Maze and Michael Maze; seven great grandchildren, Jackson, Connor and Logan Miracle, Brynlea and Kaedyn Bennett and Ella Pogue. He was preceded in death by his parents and wife. Funeral Information Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 am on Friday, February 5th in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Johnny Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in Cresthaven Memory Gardens. Friends may call from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Thursday, February 4th at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
