Obituary of Bernard May

Bedford Bernard May, 82, of Bedford, died at 4:25 am on Wednesday, December 24, 2008 at the Dunn Memorial Hospital. Born April 4, 1926 in Lawrence Co., he was the son of Perry and Mary C. (Beyers) May. He married Phyllis Turner on June 14, 1947 and she survives. He was retired from General Motors in Bedford and a veteran of WW II serving with the U.S. Navy. He was a member of the Hillcrest Christian Church and U.A.W. Local #440. Surviving with his wife, Phyllis is one son, Michael L. May and his wife, Margit of Bedford; three grandchildren, Bernard Michael May, Tiffany Lynn May and Robert Layne May; seven great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, John D. and Claude Edward May and one sister, Juanita Turner. Funeral Information Private graveside services will be conducted at Green Hill Cemetery with Rev. Johnny Turner and Rev. Charlie Scott officiating. Burial will follow. No calling hours are scheduled. Arrangements are under the direction of the Day & Carter Mortuary.
