Obituary of Grace Ellen Martin

Bedford Grace Ellen Martin, 87, a resident of Westview Manor, died at 8:47 am on Monday, September 20, 2004 at the Dunn Memorial Hospital. Born November 23, 1916 in Lawrence County, she was the daughter of William and Mabel (Marsh) Asbury. She married John Edward Martin and he preceded her in death on May 25, 1991. She retired from the Woolworths Store in Bedford and was a member of the Free Methodist Church where she was involved with the Missionary Group. Survivors include three daughters, Janice Sue Wigley and her husband, Frank and Connie Hall and her husband, Ernie all of Bedford and Carol Aston of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; grandchildren, Debra Widgeon and her husband, Troy of Tennessee, Gregory Taylor and his wife, Michelle of Bedford, Mike Taylor of Bedford, Deanna Billings and her husband, Bill of Florida, Lesley Aston of Florida, Michael Shannon Fortner and his wife, Donna of Bedford, Dana Hall Martin and her husband, Jarred of Bedford, Timothy Scott Fortner of Bedford and Troy D. Haggard and his wife, Azizah of Tokyo, Japan; great grandchildren, Kevin and Robin Nelson both of Tennessee, Cody D. Hearth of Bedford and Michael Scott Cunningham of Mitchell; great great grandchildren, Ben and Garrett Taylor, Jennifer and Jamie Taylor, Bobby Bandy, Moon McKenzie and her little brother, Seth Hunter, Caleb and Jackson Ikerd; two brothers, Theodore (Red) Asbury of Oklahoma and Wendall Howard Asbury of Ohio. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two granddaughters, Tamera Sue Taylor and Erika Hall and one grandson, David Haggard Funeral Information Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 am on Friday, September 24th from the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Pastor Ronnie McLain officiating. Burial will follow in Beech Grove Cemetery. Friends may call from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Thursday, September 23rd at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
