Obituary of James E. Martin

Bloomington James E. Martin, 81, of Bloomington, died at 5:15 am on Monday, February 27, 2006 at the Fontainbleu Nursing and Rehab. Center in Bloomington. Born March 31, 1924 in Springville, IN, he was the son of James L. and Stella (Flynn) Martin. He married Elsie Skeens and she preceded him in death. He later married Stephanie Norkus and she also preceded him in death. He was a carpenter, retiring in 1975 and a veteran of the U.S. Navy. Survivors include one son, James Martin, Jr. and his wife, Diana of Bloomington; one sister, Betty Turner of Bedford; five grandchildren and two great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, both wives, two brothers, Lloyd and Howard Cassidy; three sisters, Dorothy Wright, Pauline Jerrells and Juanita Johnson. Funeral Information Graveside services will be conducted at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, March 1st at the Green Hill Cemetery. No calling hours are scheduled. Arrangements are under the direction of the Day & Carter Mortuary.
