Obituary of Judith A. Maick
Bedford- Judith (Judy) A. Maick, 68, died at 1:20 A.M. on Saturday, April 4, 2009 at her residence following a long illness.
Born March 14, 1941 she was the daughter of Morris (Buster) and Dorothy (Sanders) Miller. She retired from Dana Corporation and had previously worked at Smiths Jewelers and served as a Weight Watchers lecturer. Early in her career she was a beautician. She volunteered throughout the years for many organizations including the Girl Scouts of America, Limestone Girls Club, and PTO. She was also quite active as a volunteer at White River Baptist Church and Hillcrest Christian Church with both teaching VBS and Sunday school. When not attending activities for her grandsons, she enjoyed two of her other passions, travel and reading.
Survivors include her husband Charles E. (Eddie) Maick of Bedford, three daughters: Kelly Maick of Ellettsville, Mrs. Brent (Melody) Allen of Bedford, and Mrs. Doug (Mary) Horton of Bedford; four grandsons: Kyle Dalton and his wife Tiffany, Evan Allen, Gavin Horton, and Brody Horton; two great grandsons: Grant and Grady Dalton. She was preceded in death by her parents, and one brother, Michael Alan Miller. Funeral Information
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, April 8th from the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary. Burial will follow in the Cresthaven Memory Gardens. Friends may call from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. on Tuesday, April 7th and from 10:00 A.M. until the hour of service on Wednesday, April 8th at the Day & Carter Mortuary. Donations Information
The family requests that in lieu of flowers donations be made to the North Lawrence Community Schools Scholarship Foundation; a journalism and literature scholarship is being established in memory of Judy.
