Papaw Jan loved fiercely and unconditionally through the good the bad and the distance. He is the light and the standard of love we (his grandchildren) carry with us. He didnt always give us what we wanted but he always gave us everything we needed. He was our safe place, the home we came back to and the heart of our home. He loved mamaw to his last breath as I am sure he will always. The world has become so dim already in his absence. Sweet, loving, wonderful man. Heaven has gained a wonderful Angel. He will be sorely missed

Papaw Jan was very loving and caring for us, grandchildren. His care and love for us was so pure. Never a bad memory of him. He was such an amazing, loving and fun papaw. May his soul rest in peace. The news was such a shock to me, I still can’t wrap my head around the fact. Forever in my heart and memories, papaw Jan.

We were next door neighbors in Broadview addition(circa 1960's). We lived beside the Lewis' on Hillside drive. Jan was a super nice guy! So sorry for your loss.
