Obituary of Gerald Gene Henderson

Mitchell Gerald Gene Henderson, 83, a resident of Mitchell Manor in Mitchell, IN, formerly of the Needmore Community, died at 11:55 pm on Wednesday, November 29, 2006 at Mitchell Manor. Born August 3, 1923 in Lawrence County, he was the son of Clifford and Leona (Goodman) Henderson. He married Gladys Marie Grow on December 1, 1945 and she preceded him in death. He was a stone planerman and a member of the laborers union. He was a member of the Gulletts Creek Baptist Church and a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during WW II. Survivors include one son, Gary D. Henderson and his wife, Betty of Bedford; one grandson, Jared Henderson and one granddaughter, Amanda Jo Blake both of Bedford; one great granddaughter, Maraya Blake. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and one brother, Robert D. Henderson. Funeral Information Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 am on Saturday, December 2nd from the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Morturay. Burial will follow in Beech Grove Cemetery. Friends may call from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Friday, December 1st and from 10:00 am until the hour of service at the Day & Carter Mortuary. Military rites will be accorded at the graveside by members of the Gillen Post #33 American Legion.
