So very sorry to hear of your loss of your beautiful and precious Wife and Mother.
I have known Sandra for many, many years. She was one of my fellow classmates from Thomas Dale High School in Chester, VA.
Sandra, was always sweet, kind with such a beautiful smile.
I will send Sandra's Obit to our fellow classmates.
She will be sorely missed by all who knew her and greatly missed my me.
I am sending you all my sincere love, prayers and condolences.

Sandra Kay Newton Hatfield was an exceptional woman. The memories of my time with Sandy put a smile on my face, from the times at Gwynns Island on the Chesapeake Bay when all of us girls were just little to the hot summer days of my early teenage years staying in Indiana with the family. I truly bonded with my aunt and uncle those times and my cousins, Kim and Lark, who I think of as my Indiana sisters. Sandy made it all happen and she was such a trooper when we played tricks on her. Sandy loved coming to VA to see her sister and brothers. We loved the visits as much as Sandy. When she wasn’t visiting, she would write. Sandy had a degree in English and her letters were so descriptive. Mama would read the happenings in IN that Sandy would eloquently put on paper. That was only one of Sandy’s many talents. My mother has paintings on her wall today painted by Sandy. She was a talented artist. She loved beauty and saw it in everything. She loved her daughters so much, spoiled her husband Don and then when the grandkids came along, Griffin and Eliza, oh boy! Sandy just adored those grandchildren. Sandy loved her family, she loved nature, she was a gardener, a horticulturalist, an animal lover, an activist for the best causes, an avid reader, a great friend and she was a Bible believing Christian. Sandy truly was a Renaissance woman. My sweet aunt is now in a transformed body in the loving arms of Jesus and alongside her mother Josephine. My prayers extend to all of my IN family and I pray for peace for them. I shall see sweet Sandy again one day and for that, I’m grateful.

I first met Sandy when she moved to Bedford as a high school student. She was without a doubt the most beautiful girl I had ever seen. Our daughters are nearly the same age and are dear friends; we became grandmothers about the same time. I know heaven is much sweeter today.
