Obituary of Dewey Luttrell

Bedford-Dewey Luttrell, Jr. 71, of 5739 Rawles Ave. Indianapolis, IN died at 8:35 AM on Friday, March 30, 2012 at Westview Manor Nursing Home in Bedford. Born January 5, 1941 in Lawrence County, IN he was the son of Louie Murry Luttrell and Alma (Rodgers) Luttrell Kern. He first married Kay Stigall who is the mother of his children, and later married Mary Durre and she survives. He graduated from Fayetteville High School. He was a retired carpenter and a US Air Force veteran. Survivors include his wife Mary Caroline Luttrell; two daughters: Mashell Crump of Michigan, and Edwina Luttrell of Michigan; one son: Dwayne Luttrell of Michigan; five grandchildren: Katrina Weil, Nathan Weil and wife Holly, Jared Gipson, Erika Gipson, Lindsey Gipson; two great grandchildren Tyler Weil and Annalisa Zinn; two brothers: Charles and Michael Luttrell both of Indianapolis; three half brothers: Lanny, Danny, and William Luttrell all of Bedford; one half sister: Robin Johnson of Ohio; his stepchildren: Debra Grant and Mark Duncan. He was preceded in death by his parents, one son: Kevin Luttrell; one stepson: Steven Duncan; four brothers: Morris, Lewis, Wayne, and Orris Luttrell and Edward Luttrell in infancy; one sister: Rudeen Patton, and Patsy Luttrell in infancy; one half brother: Robert Luttrell; step father John Kern. Funeral Information Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, April 3rd in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Bennie Sutherland officiating. Burial will follow in the Patton Hill Cemetery. Military rites will be accorded at the graveside by members of the American Legion Gillen Post # 33. Visitation will be from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Monday, April 2nd, and 10:00 until the hour of service on Tuesday, April 3rd at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
