Obituary of Jay David May

Jay David May, 68, passed away Monday, September 4, 2023, at the IU Health Hospice House. Born July 26, 1955, in Bedford, he was the son of Dave and Pauline (Knight) May. He married Kelly Simpson on October 18, 2013. Jay retired from General Motors after 45 years of service. He was a member of the Bedford Boat & Sportsman Club, Son of the American Legion Gillen Post #33, and American Patriot Lodge #750 F & AM. He was an avid sports fan, especially the Chicago Cubs & Indiana Hoosiers. Survivors include his wife, Kelly May of Bedford; children, Chris (Amanda) May of Bedford, Scotty (Julie) & Tyler (Ashlee) Trueblood of Bedford; brother, Larry (Pat) May of Oolitic; sister, Vicki Cooper; grandchildren, Carter & Sydney May and Treyten & Garrison Trueblood; In-Laws, Gary & Jo Simpson. Friends may visit from 2pm to 8pm Thursday, September 7th, at the Day & Carter Mortuary. A Masonic service will be conducted at 7pm.
