Vernie was one of kindest men I ever met. My Dad was in the Limestone Cowboys with Vernie. I remember those Chuckwagon Dinners at the church and all of their great big smiles standing up on that truck bed singing their hearts out. Those guys really enjoyed singing together. He loved talking about his family. And we loved listening. Heaven gained a special one.
