Obituary of Ruby Cracraft

Bedford – Ruby Cracraft, 85, of Bedford, passed away at 6:05 pm, on Tuesday, January 17, 2023. Born September 8, 1937, in Lawrence Co., she was the daughter of Shirley and Pearl (Kirk) Sharr. She married Willard Cracraft on February 14, 1960, and he survives. She retired from the Bedford National Bank/Chase Bank after 30 years of service and was a member of the Judah Church of Christ. She loved sports and was an avid I.U. fan. Ruby especially enjoyed being involved in her grandchildren’s many sports and activities throughout the years. She had an infectious smile and loving demeanor that made an impact on everyone she met. Ruby was supportive and encouraging to everyone she met. Ruby was a faithful servant who loved the Lord, her family and friends. Survivors include her husband, Willard, of Bedford; two daughters, Connie Koch and husband, Eric, of Bedford and Julie Ellison, of Indianapolis; five grandchildren, Jordan Koch (Jessie), Spencer Koch, Hunter Koch and fiancé, Hannah DeGroot, Cameron Ellison, and Meredith Ellison; two great-grandchildren, Connor James Koch and Nathan Alexander Koch; a brother, Robert Sharr, of Oolitic; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, 1 brother, James Sharr; 3 sisters, Bernice Ritter, Norma Bartlett and Barbara Bartlett; a son-in-law, Jim E. Ellison. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 am, on Monday, January 23rd in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Larry Ritter officiating. Burial will follow in the Judah Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12:00 noon to 7:00 pm on Sunday, January 22nd and from 10:00 am until the hour of service on Monday, January 23rd at the Day & Carter Mortuary. Memorial contributions may be made to either Judah Church of Christ, Judah Heritage Festival, or the Marshall Township Volunteer Fire Department/EMS.
