I was so sorry to hear of Tom's passing. In my younger years, I spent a lot of time at his family's house. I remember when he was studying for college. His sister Mary and I were close friends and spent time together at her house and mine. Tom, as well as his parents and other siblings was always courteous and friendly to me. His Mom was one of the sweetest ladies I ever knew, and his Dad was a good man too, nice to all the kids. Charles and his wife lived just down the street from our house and my brother Jimmie & I would trade comic books with them. We rode bicycles with Junior .Ruth Ann always treated me well too. I knew Kenny but he was a lot younger so I didn't know him as well as all the others. I always loved the Kirkman family and later on, Tom's wife (Miss Burroughs) taught my Daughter, Terri Kelley, in grade school. I don't think Terri was in Tom's classes but some of my siblings were. I always felt Tom & his family were like cousins to all my family. I loved them all and I will be keeping them all in my prayers. All my family thought very well of the Kirkman family and also will be praying for all Tom's family to have peace. He will be missed by many people. He made great contributions to the school and to the entire community. Love to all his family
