Obituary of Robert Dale Lewis

Bedford Robert Dale Lewis, 93, of Bedford, went to be with his Lord at 7:00 am on Wednesday, November 19, 2014 from his home of sixty-eight years. His wife was by his side. Born February 5, 1921 in Bedford, he was the son of Arthur Samuel and Lula (Meadows) Lewis. He married Frances Garrison on July 21, 1946 and she survives. Bob was retired from General Motors in Bedford in 1981. He was a tool and die maker for thirty-four years. He served in WW II in the European Theatre attaining the rank of sergeant. Bob was a dedicated member of the First Church of God. Survivors include his wife, Frances, of Bedford; their children, Kevin Lewis and Darlene Parker and her husband, Dan; grandchildren, Brett Parker and wife, Lindsey, JoEllen Holland and husband, Sam, all of Bedford and Paul Parker and wife, Molli, of Beech Grove, IN; great grandchildren, Paul Hayden, Kolton Brock, Kasen Isaiah, Sammy Dale, Jay Robert, Mallory Frances, Paul Jackson and Alexandra Jo; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Juanita Henschen and Loretta Canada. Funeral Information Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 pm on Saturday, November 22nd in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Bro. Mark Duncan officiating. Burial will follow in Beech Grove Cemetery where military rites will be accorded by members of Gillen Post #33 American Legion and D.A.V. Chapter 2. Visitation will be from 11:00 am until the hour of service on Saturday, November 22nd at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
