Obituary of Donna Jean Helton

Bedford Donna Jean Helton, 76, of Bedford, died at 10:15 pm on Sunday, June 10, 2012 at Westview Nursing and Rehabilitation. Born July 25, 1935 in Martin County, she was the daughter of Dennie and Lillian (Thomas) Fields. She married Claude Duane Helton on August 16, 1952 and he preceded her in death. She retired from GE. She was extremely devoted to her grandchildren, loved yardwork, cooking for friends and was a member of the Central Church of Christ. Survivors include one son, Jim Helton of Bedford, four grandchildren; Robin Bex of Bloomington, Jen Bex of Indianapolis, Caci Helton-Beyers and husband Tim of Bedford and Nate Helton of Bedford, one brother, Buddy Fields and wife Ann of Owensburg, one son-in-law, Bob Bex and wife Patty of Bedford, a sister-in-law, Beulah Helton of Bedford, several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one daughter, Claudia J. Bex, one brother, Bryant Fields and one brother-in-law, Arthur Helton. Funeral Information Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Thursday, June 14, 2012 from the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary. Burial will follow in Owensburg Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 pm 8:00 pm on Wednesday, June 13, 2012 at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
