Obituary of John H. Emerson

Bedford- John H. Emerson, 73, of Bedford and formerly of New York died at his residence on Saturday morning, April 10, 2021. Born on December 21, 1947 in Olean, NY, he was the son of George H. Emerson and Nancy J. (Pascoe) Emerson. He married Linda Hamlin on December 20, 1969 and she survives. He was a veteran, serving in the U.S. Army. He retired as a service rep for ABB Air Preheater, where he worked for 38 years. He was a master gardener and a true artisan of crafts, woodwork, and winemaking. Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Linda of Bedford; three children, Sean M. Emerson and wife Amy of Wilmington, NC, Danielle L. Emerson of Virginia Beach, and Heather R. Kempf and husband Gene of Paoli, IN; five grandchildren, John Emerson, Elizabeth Emerson, Jozalyn Kempf, Eric Kempf, and Matthew Kempf; five siblings, Sally Doughtery, Cindy Jadwin and husband Richard, Steve Emerson and wife Cathy, Lori Wood and husband Dan, Larry Emerson and wife Belinda; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded by his parents, George and Nancy Emerson. A celebration of life will be held at a later date in Wellsville, New York.
