Obituary of Janet Sue Adams
Bedford - Jan Adams, 75 of Bedford passed away Tuesday, June 23rd, 2020 at 3:40 pm surrounded by her family after a courageous five year battle with ovarian cancer.
Born December 9, 1944 in Bedford, IN she was the daughter of Robert “Bob” and Alice (Mize) Fish. She graduated from Shawswick High School in 1962, and quickly after relocated to Golden, CO where she met the love of her life, Rick Adams. They were united in marriage on September 7, 1967 in Indianapolis. They spent their married life between Bedford, IN and Powell, WY.
Jan was a lifelong farmer raising everything from paint horses to miniature jersey cows to goats and pigeons. She drove a bus for NLCS for 35 years, which allowed her to spend many summers working at Rimrock Ranch in Wyoming. Jan was an avid member of the Bedford First Assembly of God Church.
Survivors include her husband, Rick, two sons, Bill (Jamie) Adams and Toby (Jessica) Adams, both of Bedford, five grandchildren, Garrett (Haley) McLaughlin, Zoe Adams, Jared Wells, Will Adams, and Cooper Adams all of Bedford, one great granddaughter due in September, and one sister, Vicki Chastain of Bedford. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Kay Denniston, and infant son Toby Dale.
Funeral services will be Friday, June 26, 2020 at the Bedford First Assembly of God Church at 12:00 pm with Pastor Bill McKee officiating. Burial will immediately follow at the Mount Pleasant Christian Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10:00 am until the time of service. The family has requested guests in attendance wear masks and practice social distancing.
