Obituary of Karen Hubbard Baker
Indianapolis – Karen Hubbard Baker, 76, of Indianapolis, passed away at 10:15 pm on Monday, May 11, 2020 at her residence.
Born August 25, 1943 in Lafayette, IN, she was the daughter of William Otto and Leva Jewell (Elmore) Hubbard. She married Gerald “Jerry” Baker and he preceded her in death after thirty-two years of marriage. Karen was a graduate of Shawswick High School with the class of 1961. She worked in administrative positions at RCA, Bloomington, Chesebrough-Ponds, Monticello, IN, NIPSCO, Monticello, IN, Carpenter Body Works, Mitchell, IN and retired as co-owner and bookkeeper of Hubbard TV, Bedford, IN. She was a member of the Hillcrest Christian Church. Karen loved living close to her only daughter and only grandchild in the Indianapolis area and was blessed by many loving cousins, aunts, uncles and friends. She dearly loved her immediate and extended families and enjoyed staying in touch through Facebook.
Survivors include her daughter, Holly Baker Webb and husband, John, of Greenwood; a grandson, William Gerald Cunha, of Greenwood; step-grandchildren, Jennifer Melton and husband, Craig, of Indiana, Jeff Webb, of Michigan, Joe Webb and wife, Kate, of Oregon; five step great-grandchildren; a brother, William Larry Hubbard and wife, Jackie, of Brownsburg; sisters-in-law, Carole Stinson and husband, Jerry, of Indiana, Shirley Balcom and husband, Hank, of Pennsylvania, and Mary Jane Baker, of Indiana; aunt, Maxine Henderson, of Bedford; uncle, Billy Joe Elmore and wife, Ester, of Illinois. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, brothers-in-law, William, Donald, and Joseph Baker; sister-in-law, Jean Baker; her mother-in-law, Irene Clerget Baker.
Private graveside service will be conducted on Tuesday, May 19th at Cresthaven Memory Gardens with Pastor Gary Cornwell officiating. Entombment will follow.
