Obituary of Charles James Kidd

Bedford – Charles James Kidd 95, of Bedford, passed away at 9:39 am on Thursday, May 14, 2020 at White River Lodge. Born September 1, 1924 in Bloomfield, he was the son of Charles Edward Kidd. He married Ima M. Reed and she preceded him in death. He spent thirty-one years in the U.S. Army and Airforce. He retired in 1972 from the Airforce as an E9 Chief Master Sergeant. Survivors include four sons, James Robert Kidd and wife, Jackie and John Edward Kidd and wife, Jan, all of Texas; Stephen Gregory Kidd and wife, Leslie of Mitchell, and Dennis Michael Kidd and wife, Nancy J., of Bedford; a daughter, Karen Swango, of Mitchell. 13 grandchildren, James R. Kidd, Jr., Deanna Newman, Chris Kidd, Wesley Kidd, Joshua Swango, Amanda Rogers, Ross Kidd, Samantha Olsen, Miranda Case, Kyle Kidd, Sierra Kidd, D.J. Kidd and Bodhi Kidd and 19 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, and a brother and sister. Private funeral services will be conducted with Rev. Dick Reed officiating. Burial will follow in the Walnut Grove Cemetery in Bloomfield.
